5. Austin Charbonneau

  • One great hockey memory would be bringing home the Gold medal at the FRANCO tournament as a member of Le Relais hockey squad in April 2011. What a way to end a high school year.

Sports Role Model

  • My passion for soccer pushes me to challenge myself. I have learned and grown into the player I am today by admiring my idol Gianluigi Buffon (Italy, Juventus FC) or dare I even say by playing hours of FIFA on my XBOX. Buffon often stated: I am the goalie-The posts are my best friends-The crossbar is my guardian angel. This statement reflects the true reality of the position.

6. Jacob Dawson

Most Memorable Moment in Sports

  • My most memorable moment in sports was winning EOSSAA two years in a row and going to OFSAA with my Senior Boys Volleyball Team

Sports Role Model

  • I have two sports role models. They are Dion Phaneuf because often times people compare me to him, and Christina Julien because of her work ethic in the gym and on the field.

10. Kyle MacDougall

Most Memorable Moment in Sports

  • Winning the high school boys hockey SD&G championship

Sports Role Model

  • Steve Yzerman

11. Kevin MacLellan

Most Memorable Moment in Sports

Sports Role Model

12. Ben McAllister

Most Memorable Moment in Sports

  • My most memorable moment in sports was during the 2009 Senior Boys A Volleyball EOSSA final. We were the host team, playing in front of our home crowd. It was the first time Holy Trinity had ever made a senior boys EOSSA final and it was our first shot at making it to OFSAA should we win. It was the first set, and we were down 13-24. Should we lose one more point, our opponent Notre Dame would take the first set and the momentum. From being down 13-24 we would fight back winning 11 straight points tying it up at 24-24, and eventually winning the first set 27-25. The next set we dominated and easily finished off the match winning 2 sets to none. With that win, Holy Trinity sent its first volleyball team to OFSAA. It was my performance in that final that won me team MVP that year. To this date I don't think I've ever played better.

Sports Role Model

  • My sports role model growing up would have to be Steve Nash. He was my favourite NBA basketball player growing up because like me, he was a point guard and much shorter than those he played against. In grade 8 my class was asked to write a speech on "My Hero," and I selected Steve Nash. When researching his youth I found out that he would practice for several hours doing the same moves and shots until they would become second nature. He would stand in one spot and say to himself, "I'm not leaving until I hit 500 shots from this spot." To this day I find his work ethic inspiring. I've always put in extra hours outside practice in attempt to be the best at every sport at play.

13. Elizabeth McCormick

Most Memorable Moment in Sports

  • Winning the Ontario Youth Soccer League qualifying tournament in London, Ontario, which resulted in our Kanata Wildcats team advancing to the OYSL.

Sports Role Model

  • Riley Filion

14. Dan Searle

Most Memorable Moment in Sports

  • My most memorable moment in sports happened during my grade 12 year while competing in the track and filed event of javelin, I came first in the SD&D division and 6th in the EOSSAA division, giving me the opportunity of completing in the regional division.

Sports Role Model

  • My sports role model is Mrs. Chantal Armstrong; she has taught and coached me throughout my entire high school and has helped me become the athlete I am today.

15. Ryan Vanderwielen

Most Memorable Moment in Sports

  • In grade eight we had a little school of 100 and some students. We entered a big volleyball tournament that we practiced all year for and we ended up winning our division in a third set in overtime, a come from behind win.

Sports Role Model

  • I would say my biggest role models would be my two grade eight volleyball coaches, Miriam Benoit and Pascal Hupe and my dedicated high school coaches. It's great to have a coach that wants to win and is willing to do anything to win. I know Pascal and Miriam did everything they possibly could. We had practices every recess and during lunch and twice a week in the morning. We entered so many tournaments that year; it's nice to see they would sacrifice their weekend for the team they loved so much. They taught me so much about good sportsmanship and how to play the game.
